It Finally Started...

Well, yesterday started my 3 weeks of base building prior to the official start of Marathon training on June 6th.  I'm going to be following a training program with biking on Sunday and Wednesday; upper body and core on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; running on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.  The upper body is going to be following the "7 weeks to 100 push-ups" book with the goal of 100 push-ups continuously at the end of those 7 weeks...maybe 10 ;-).  My core workout will be following a short 15 minute workout that Lolo Jones uses and was written about in Runner's World about one year ago.

In other more important news Jack and Thomas are having a great time with Baseball this year and I'm loving every minute of coaching them.  I'm not at all loving or even liking the fact that I'm on the board and will be changing that after the season.  Jack has become aggressive at the plate and has been on base 9 of his last 10 at bats with 5 walks (all after a couple of swinging strikes), 1 HR, 1 triple, 1 double, and a single.  He has been doing great behind the plate as well as in CF and at 1B.  He has said he is enjoying it much more now that he is getting better.  It's great to see the light go on :)  Thomas is swinging a good bat but the best part of his game is his fielding.  He is stopping all the grounders coming his way and even taking it to the base to get the lead runners out.  I can't be more proud of them because of the efforts they have put into practice and listening to the coaches this year.  And both of them have already received Game Balls!!

Felicia is once again being a sports mom with snacks, meals on the run, extra laundry needed in a short time, and Jack's want to knock on his cup to let her know he has it on!

I want to remind Felicia what I told her on Mother's Day.  You are an absolutely wonderful, loving, supportive Mom.  I speak for Jack and Thomas when I say we all truly believe that you are the best Mom in the world and it's not even close.  Without you Jack, Thomas, and I would be lost and really smelly!  You are the best thing to happen to all of us and we can't thank you enough for YOU!
