Week 8 - progress once again

Well, it was a good week.  Not much riding but the the body responded well to better eating for the most part.  Last night the Peanut Butter and Fluff monster jumped out of the closet and forced it's way into my mouth ;-).

It's looking good for my weight, waist, and body fat goals for the 1st quarter however, the riding may be low.  I'll attribute that to 2 things, 1 being the OrthoVisc shots that caused a few days each week to be rest days and number 2, just pure laziness.  Well, not just laziness, sitting on the couch with Felicia and/or the boys is better.

Week seven -- more of the same

Well, it was the same this week.  This was a pretty good week even though the measurements all remained the same.  I ate better than I did the week before so that big loss could really be averaged over 2 weeks.  I'll get back on the bike later this week as I should be over my cold and have my energy back...nothing last week.

Today was also the final of my OrthoVisc shots and from what I was told by Dr. Walsh, this should be day zero and if I'm feeling better already, that's great but six weeks from today should be the extremely better as that seems to be about the time it really kicks in.  Hopefully, it will feel as good if not better then and will last 6+ months.

Week Six and the Poconos

It was a good week for weight but a tough one with travel/sinus infection/call in for new prescription since the first didn't do anything except allow the infection to get stronger.  So, I'm not so sure the gains from the week were due to long rides in IL at the place I stayed or due to taking the medicine; either way it works.

I had to weigh in a day later this week since we were out of town so the boys could learn to snowboard!  We spent the weekend at the Poconos and Jack and Thomas took Snowboarding lessons on Saturday and then continued to Snowboard for a couple of additional hours.  They did very well and stayed up much better than I expected them to be able to for the distances they traveled.  They seemed to have a good time although they both want to try skiing next time because they thought they spent too much time on their butts :)

Week five results

Well, it was a good week but I'm not sure if I was extra good with diet...don't think so, or it was due to having that sinus thing going early in the week.  Maybe I need to keep taking the medicine before going to bed :-)  Either way it works and I get to ride extra this week because I didn't get a shot today so there are no biking restrictions until the middle of next week.

January Summary

For January 2011 I was able to get in some good rides on the trainer and stationary bike.  However, due to the extremely cold temperatures and snow and ice I wasn't able to get any rides outside in January.  I started my OrthoVisc injections and also received a Cortisone shot in the left shoulder half way through the month to hopefully correct an issue with that rotator cuff.

Overall I did have a very good month with exercise and progress towards weight goals even with having to miss some days due to the shots and I'm very happy with my progress.  My weight dropped 5.6 lbs, my waist was reduced by 3/4 of an inch, and my body fat % is down by 0.9%.

Progress minus exercise???

Okay, I don't understand it because I didn't eat all that well in Atlanta last week and I only rode the bike for one hour (10 miles) and that was a recovery ride with a couple of short intervals.  Yet, I was able to drop almost a pound and took some off the waist.  I'll take it but it does have me confused.  Maybe larger intakes of alcohol is the trick...going to have to try it again next week ;-)

Getting somewhat better

As I did last week, not as healthy as I should have eaten and it showed on the scale but the waist is slightly smaller (a tad under 39) and the body fat % reduced some.  I'm glad for those things as the not so good eating happened all but one night this week after 10pm and typically involved Fluff and chips :)  I'll take the week because of the riding amount.

Cancer Council Classic - Santos Tour Down Under 2011

Not too bad...

Well, I didn't eat as healthy as I should have but it was still a good week.  I moved in the right direction and the weight, waist, and body fat % have all become smaller numbers. That's probably due to this being a good week of exercise and since I've done a little with small increases each day I'm actually to move without my lats and legs killing me from the negative pull-ups, rides, and squats.

It was a good week

I started riding and working out.  All rides were in the basement on the trainer and I tested myself and completed an additional day of body weight exercises.  This morning I weighed in at 4 pounds less than last week and reduced both my waist and body fat percentage.  This week will have some additional workouts and possibly an outside ride or two.
