Cold and Slippery but so nice

Well today was the first day I completed the really early run (five am).  I actually woke at 5 and started my run at 5:19.  It was about 8 degrees with light snow and average winds (12 - 15 mph).  I made sure to wear my headlamp with the flasher going so I must have been a sight...like a blinking fire hydrant sliding down the road. :-)

I only saw 2 trucks plowing parking lots and 2 other cars on the road and I have to say I have felt GREAT all day.  I'm glad I decided to run outside today for the peacefulness of it.  I did slightly more than 3 miles even though my pace was slower due to a different running style because of the snow on the ground and so I didn't slip and fall.  It really allowed me to start the day with a clear head and more energy then a couple cups of coffee.  After I finished running I cleared the snow off the driveway for a cool down.  But, the best part of the early morning run is that I was done before anyone woke up and was free to spend tonight with Felicia and the boys without anything on my mind.

Tonight we opened the new item from the returns (Guitar Hero 5) and installed guitar #2 for the boys (gift card + some assistance from Mommy and Daddy).

If you scroll to the bottom of the blog you'll see I composed a new playlist from playlist.com.  It is the new running mix I'm using (minus one TSO song).  Although I guess I would say it's being used inside on the bike or elliptical since I'm really enjoying the morning runs with no music.
